Top 10 Bibliobloggers, Determined by Bibliobloggers

The aim of this blog is to complement the Alexa-run biblioblog rankings (compiled by Jeremy Thompson over at Free Old Testament Audio) with a top 10 ranking that is determined entirely by bibliobloggers. This is an opportunity for those in the guild to highlight biblioblogs for their content, innovation, and insights, rather than their general popularity. This is not meant to at all disparage the Alexa rankings or the practice of ranking blogs by popularity. This is also not an attempt to dethrone or marginalize Jim West. It was originally inspired by Dean Galbraith’s own top 30 list following his recent Biblical Studies Carnival, and the recent discussion has galvanized me to put the plan into action.

Until a more automated process can be put together, voting will take place by emailing your own personal list of the top 10 biblioblogs (or top 1, 2, 3, etc.) to bibliobloggerstop10[at]yahoo.com. Please include in your email a link to your blog. Each vote for 1st place will earn that blog 10 points. 2nd place earns 9 points, and on to 1 point for 10th place. All the points earned from the first to the last day of each month will be tallied and the top 10 will be published.

If anyone has any suggestions or would like to contribute in some way, feel free to comment here or drop a line at the email address given above. This is a new project and there are likely to be a lot of ways things could be done better, so don’t be shy.
